Not every controller job is a main pump controller. This Dandenong site had a failed jacking pump controller — the small panel that runs the pressure maintenance pump and quietly keeps the whole fire system pressurised. When it fails, the main fire pumps end up doing the jockey pump’s job, cycling on every small pressure drop and clocking up unnecessary starts and wear.
What We Did
We fitted one of our own Melbourne-manufactured jacking pump controllers, set the cut-in and cut-out pressures for the site, verified the pressure switch operation, and confirmed the main pump controllers were no longer picking up nuisance starts. A small job that protects the big, expensive equipment downstream.
