Fire Pump Sizer
Preliminary sizing and checking of hydrant and sprinkler pumpsets to AS 2941 – duty point, pump, driver, fuel, exhaust and compliance checks.
Supplying a pumpset in Victoria? Installing or replacing a fire pumpset in Victoria requires an Engineering Certificate from a registered engineer and a Building Permit from a building surveyor. Use this tool for preliminary sizing only. Melfire can draft the plans, prepare the fire brigade submission, coordinate the engineering and performance solution submissions, and build the pumpset.
Pressure reducing valve (PRV) sizing – preliminary. Use this to size a PRV that limits pressure to a hydrant zone, sprinkler zone or lower floors. A PRV must not be used to bring the pumpset’s own churn pressure within component ratings. The engineer’s certified design and the valve maker’s data govern.
Preliminary sizing only. Results use generic pump and engine performance until manufacturer curves are selected, and must not be used for construction. The final design must be engineered and certified by a registered engineer, with a building permit from a building surveyor, to the current Australian Standards. Clause references are to AS 2941–2013.
