We often receive calls from people looking for a new fire maintenance company. More often than not, we say no.
That’s not arrogance, rudeness, or lack of interest. We’re a small business with limited staff and resources, and we can’t take on every building that comes through the door.
Sometimes it takes us years to properly onboard a building. That time is spent building relationships, reading documents, reviewing engineering, understanding permits, and getting a real feel for the responsibility we’re taking on.
We’re not perfect. Our vans might be untidy. Our staff are older, probably less polished, and we may look like a bunch of tired, grumpy blokes looking after your building.
But we care.
We research. We ask questions. We get to know the people involved. We learn who matters, who maintains what, and how the building actually works. We try to do the right thing by owners, committees, corporations, managers, and everyone else connected to the site.
That depth of understanding makes a difference.
Sometimes we’ll replace a pressure gauge at no charge. Sometimes we’ll redraw block plans for very little. Sometimes we’ll do things that would make an accountant’s skin crawl, because we know it helps the building and the people responsible for it.
Our technical knowledge has been built over decades of maintenance work, mistakes, lessons, and experience. MELFIRE has been operating under the same leadership for nearly 20 to 25 years, and that history matters.
