As you can see from the photos above, the old 100-mm hydrant water supply has been disconnected from the existing 100-mm elbow and check valve. A new 100-mm pipe has been installed from the 100-mm flange at ground level to the new booster assembly.
While on site, I took photos of the inside of the old 100mm check valve. The buildup inside would have affected the hydrant water supply, and the check valve’s seat may not have worked.
The check valve is another item that should be removed and checked during the five yearly maintenance routine.
